The heat is on - it must be summer in Arizona

Perhaps it's time to start tracking the number of "excessive heat warnings" we receive this summer. Let's start hoping the summer thunderstorms arrive to bring us some relief. Does anyone know the date of the last official measurable rain in Phoenix? Looking back it's hard to believe that we had as much rain as we did last winter.

Last year we set a record for the number days with the temperature at 110 degrees and above, 32, I believe. I think it's easily to say that the "average" daily temperatures are rising and I'm hoping that 115 degrees does not become a normal high in the next decade.
